Synopsis

After making some rather serious on-air mistakes, Chase Storyman and Lilac Hellowitz, of YMI News, get themselves banished to the North Pole. They’re told, if they don’t get an exclusive interview with Santa, they shouldn’t bother to come back. Chase and Lilac realize that such an interview is impossible and that this is just another way of the studio saying, “you’re fired”, which really pisses Lilac off (Talk about a woman with an attitude). Lilac suddenly gets a streak of journalistic determination and she manages to talk Chase into actually giving it a try.

However, once in the Artic, they suddenly realize that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea after all. They get caught in a blizzard, get totally lost, and finally succumb to it all by passing out in the snow.

Enter Cupid. Cupid suddenly appears and, having no idea who they are, takes them back to Santa’s Workshop to revive them, thus saving their lives (Yay!). When Chase and Lilac realize where they are, they figure they hit the jackpot, until they find out Santa has a very strict “no interviews” policy and they can’t get past the lobby.

Mrs. Claus, however, just talks, and talks, and talks. (Oh my!) But, she makes a darn good chocolate chip cookie.

Ralph, the elf manager, does nothing but complain about the elves, who we come to learn are nasty little creatures.

On top of that, we learn that Cupid, among other things, has had a run-in with the law causing him to broaden his vocabulary with a constant line of swear words.

In other words, Santa’s workshop is nothing like what we’ve been taught to believe.

When Chase and Lilac finally return home, they must tell the truth about what goes on at the North Pole. Then again, what is “truth” anyway?

Great fun, wonderful music, and a very irreverent (can you say, “naughty”) storyline.

COSTUMES

Santa wears his Santa pants, boots, a long-sleeved grey T-shirt and suspenders throughout the show. For the last scene, he comes out fully dressed and ready to “take off”.

Mrs. Claus and the elves are self-explanatory.

As for the reindeer (CUPID), you can use reindeer costumes but, we encourage a bit of creativity.

CPUID – Leather Biker Jacket with “Sons of” in the top rocker and “The North Pole” in the bottom rocker with some sort of art around a red and white striped pole (The North Pole), with Jeans and a very fake looking set of antlers that have a strap going under his chin..
